This is a repository of auctions to help [personal profile] delight raise funds. [personal profile] delight has significant expenses related to family medical bills and the need to get out of an unsafe housing situation.

You can either post an auction here directly, or link to an auction hosted on another site or Dreamwidth user journal.

When bidding, please reply to the previous bid so people know when they are being outbid! (Not everyone is tracking comments on auctions they want to follow.)

Please avail yourselves of the tags when you make a new entry! (Or make a tag if there isn't an appropriate one for your needs.) That way people can sort by types of things and auction ending dates.

Feel free to link this auction far and wide, but by request from [personal profile] delight , please do not put links on Facebook!

According to my dodgy math skills, we've raised $588 for [personal profile] delight through this community, totaling up all closed auctions, and assuming no one donated a little extra. ([personal profile] kalmialatifolia may also have raised more with hand bound books that I don't know about.) I know that delight is still in need of funds, and that we have several auctions still open, along with some forlorn closed auctions that got no bids! I strongly suspect that bids past the deadline will be warmly received if there's anything you meant to bid on and spaced before the deadline.
meloukhia: A candystriped box of popcorn (Popcorn)
[personal profile] meloukhia
We still have a number of auctions going (these expire today) and are also accepting donation items for new auctions! Please continue to spread the word; there are a number of worthy charitable donation drives going on right now, but every little bit counts.

No one has bid on Molly's lovely donation of a hand-sewn plushie of choice, so I am extending the deadline. Please go bid!

This fantastic custom costume action expires today. If you have a hankering for steampunk skirts or waistcoats, get over there, fast!

We have two auctions expiring tomorrow, and one of them has no bids! This makes the mel very sad. I'd better see a bidding war on there by lunch or I am going to be very disappointed. You wouldn't like me when I'm disappointed, Dreamwidth.

So many people have done so much for [personal profile] delight , but she is definitely not out of the woods! While she has some time to raise funds, I'd rather see her meeting her goal and feeling comfortable than trapped in endless stress about money, because she has quite enough to be getting on with as it is. If you can afford to bid, please bid, because every little bit counts. If you can afford to donate something, please do so, and keep this auction rolling!

What You Are Bidding On!

You are bidding on one (1) necklace/bracelet set of aluminum Byzantine pattern.

Shiny bling, folks, shiny bling.

The necklace probably won't go much longer than 20in//50.8cm because then it gets unwieldy to make. Light, strong, never tarnishing* bling.

STARTING BID:

$10 Hand made by yours truly. You know you want never-tarnishing bling.

EXPIRATION:

20 March.

Come on, share the love!

*Aluminium does eventually oxidize. But it takes for friggin' ever to do so. The non-tarnishing still applies.

So I've been in a dumpy spot before and had to ask for help. I was, as usual, floored by the response of good human people.

So I return the favor!

What You Are Bidding On!

You are bidding on one pair (1) of knitted mittens OR fingerless mitts with a gusseted thumb spot. I would offer pictures but the last few times I've knitted, the items were snatched off the blocking board with gleeful cackles before I could take pictures. Silly people.

They can be knit in your choice of colors and fiber types (limited to wool, wool blend, acrylic, bamboo, cotton/corn[such a weird combo, but o so nice] and there's a couple of others...) to your hand size (or someone else's, I'm not picky).

In Addition!

You will also receive your choice of bread! 7 Grain Bread or Sourdough. For international winners, you will receive something else - Pralines! Om nom nom. So tasty. So delicious. So sugary.

There you have it! Candy or bread and your choice of mitts or mittens! Come on, you know you want them. Can't you feel that lovely fiber against your hands and that tasty treat on your tongue?

STARTING BID:

$10 That's right, $10 for the whole thing. If the bid goes above $30, I'll throw in a Byzantine pattern chain mail bracelet in aluminum. Hand made by yours truly. You know you want never-tarnishing bling.

EXPIRATION:

20 March.

Come on, share the love!

These auctions expire today
(7 March, I edited to update the link), so get your bids in while you can.

These auctions have no bids and are sad and lonely:

I'm posting this on behalf of the artist, a fabulous jeweler and friend of mine. Here's her description:

Hand woven fine silver Etruscan chain with a natural, un-dyed pear faceted Peridot. My metal is sourced from Hoover and Strong recyclers, and my methods are as non-toxic as possible, including using cadmium-free solder. This piece is completely hand made without power tools.

A photograph of the described necklace

I can say from personal experience that Gowan has a meticulous attention to detail and produces absolutely amazing work. This piece retails for $300! Starting bid: Anything. No, really. Anything!

I live down the street from a place that makes the most amazing candy, and I would like to share this candy with you!

I also live in Canada, and I understand that we have awesome candy here that you, gentle reader, may not have in your country! Om nom nom, Canadian-candy! Like ketchup chips! And nibs! And pop tarts! And smarties made with chocolate rather than whatever the heck they make them with in the US - what is up with that?

My Offer: I would select and ship to you a box of delightful candies. If you give me no guidance, I will pick the bulk of my candies from the locally owned and wheelchair accessible Sugah, of which you can see a delightful sample at their online ordering page. Om nom nom, white chocolate stuffed with Canadian maple sugar! Rum cake! White chocolate tablets with cranberries. Mmmmm......

However! You, gentle reader, may not wish to have only the chocolate-coated delights of Sugah. If you wish, I can instead send you some Canadian-specific candy of your choice! (Please note: I will not buy Nestle Products.)

I have allergies/I don't like maple sugar/I just don't want any of your stupid white chocolate: That is okay! Once I have a winning bidder we will discuss these concerns and arrange things accordingly. Sending you something you don't want would be bad.

Okay, but how much candy?: I'm looking to spend around $20 CDN. If you only want the awesome stuff from Sugah, then you can see above how much you can get with that amount. If you're wanting more generalized candy, it may come out to a lot more.

I'm posting on behalf of an auction donor who isn't a Dreamwidth user. Her entry follows!

Hi! My name is Molly Moonbeast, and my item up for auction is a hand-sewn plushie of any character of your choice.

I'm a novice plushie maker, and my style is very simple/rustic (visible stitches, sometimes on purpose) and cartoony (The Great Showdowns series is a huge influence). My plushies are made from felt and recycled buttons and fabric accents. They're stuffed with plastic grocery bags for that extra hint of eco-friendliness. Here is an example of a plushie Monty Python character, Cardinal Fang from the Spanish Inquisition sketch, that I recently made for a craft swap (with a vitamin bottle for size comparison). Your finished plushie will be between six and ten inches in length depending on the character.

If you are the winner, you'll need to send me a Paypal reciept of your donation along with your plushie request. If you'd like an original character, please give me a visual reference.

Postage details: postage is included for US and Canada, will cover half for everywhere else. plushie will be sent via US Mail and shipped out by April 1 at the latest

Starting bid: $10 USD

Auction closes: Friday, March 25 at 11 PM EST.

Bid by commenting. If you have any questions, email me at zinesandskafiends[at]yahoo[dot]com
